On 9 October 2022, members from Rotary Club of Hong Kong North Point were invited to join the Birthday Party held in Wellness Manor (“NAAC-WM”) which was organized by The Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council (“NAAC”) and George A. Spence Foundation (“GASF”). NAAC-WM is a hostel for moderately mental handicapped persons which provides short term residential for people with disabilities in the community so their family could have a short break or may attend to their personal matters.
With beneficiaries from NAAC-WM, our Rotarians enjoyed time of fellowship and inclusion through fun-time of singing and dancing followed by cake cutting plus afternoon tea together. While the gathering was only 2hrs, friendships were built. One beneficiary whispered into one of our Rotarian to say “my birthday soon”; despite of limited words, it was so heartwarming they wanted to chat with us and wish to extend friendship into the future. The afternoon tea was arranged by a social enterprise which supports HKSAR’s local economy.
