Rotary District 3450 Area 13 Charter Celebration was successfully held on 19/7/2024 with team effort by Area 13 Organising Committee team (formed by RC Braemar Hill, RC Discovery Bay, RC Innovation HK, RC HK North Point, RC Tango, RC Victoria Harbour, RC The Discovery Hong Kong and RC Balance and Joy) , advised by PDG CP Eric Chin, under the leadership of AG Eliza Fan, DAG Bee Chan and DAG Christian Chasset together with the co-chairs our P Peter Long and IPP Karim Berrada from RC Discovery Bay. 🤗

We are delighted to have DG Nigel Lo, Mr. Nick Chan, BBS, MH, JP, elected National People’s Congress member (Hong Kong Deputy), also honorary member of RCHKNP, DGE Cassy Cheng, DGN Jimmy Lau, other guests and friends, over 110 members and guests in total joining our Charter Celebration. 👏🏼
We are also very happy to have a visiting Rotarian from New Zealand who is the Past President of Rotary Club of Pakurangan in District 9920 and International Fellowship of Flying Rotarians New Zealand Past Squadron Leader Peter Armstrong and his wife Margaret Armstrong joining the memorable night. 🇳🇿✈️
The celebration was declared opened by Area 13 Presidents followed by the charter story of Area 13 by PDG CP Eric Chin who initiated to set up Area 13. DG Nigel also gave a speech on his expectations and confidence in the new Rotary year and Area 13. We then toasted the new Rotary year as well as the chartering of Area 13 with a cake cutting ceremony joined by July birthday stars! 🎂
We then had Area 13 club installation followed by Area 13 President’s presentation, sharing their goals and upcoming service projects highlights.
New members of each club are also inducted in the new members induction session hosted by AG Eliza. We are very happy to welcome our 3 new members – Ms. Peggy Chan, Mr. Ron Leung and Mr. Nelson Chong to the RCHKNP family. They are pinned by our PDG CP Eric. A total of 14 new members were inducted by 4 clubs . 🙏🏻
After all the formality of the above sessions, we all enjoyed one of the highlights of the night – Area 13 Got Talents! Representatives from each club have prepared entertainments for everyone to enjoy and had fun! Our PDG CP Eric and P Peter Long have performed Yang Style Tai Chi Sabre 楊式太極刀 and Karate + wooden plate breaking respectively. The performance was truly impressive and shocked everyone! 🤩
The night went well with a lot of singing, laughing and fellowship. It is great to see the bonding of Area 13 clubs. We look forward to seeing more magic created together with team work in this rotary year! Thank you all once again for joining! ❤️
