[Joint Meeting of the Rotary Club of Braemar Hill and the Rotary Club of Hong Kong North Point with District Governor’s Visit]
On 27 October 2023, we had the pleasure of conducting a collaborative meeting with the Rotary Club of Braemar Hill. This significant event was further graced by an official visit from our District Governor (DG), Andy Li. The meeting was also attended by a distinguished team of District Officers, including District Governor Nominee Cassy Cheng, Assistant Governor Leo Lu, District Secretary Louis Ma, and District Secretary Regan Ho. Their presence added immense value to our joint club event.
Our club’s core committee members, led by P Edmond Yue, had the opportunity to present a comprehensive report detailing our current progress and achievements across various domains. These included Membership & Engagement, Rotary Foundation Giving, Community Service Projects, International Service Projects, Public Image, Vocational & Youth Services, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Preserve Planet Earth initiatives, Club Fellowship, as well as Health and Peace initiatives. We were honored to receive commendation from DG Andy Li for our sustained efforts towards the development and operation of the club. His appreciation serves as a testament to our commitment to the values and goals of the Rotary Club.
The joint club meeting formally commenced following a presentation by the Rotary Club of Braemar Hill to DG Andy. The first speaker was P Edmond Yue, followed by P Loraine Lai. DG Andy then provided us with valuable insights and key information about the District’s focus for this Rotary year.
DG Andy also emphasized the importance of membership growth and encouraged the club to exert more effort towards achieving this goal. It was a pleasure to announce that a total of three new Rotarians joined the Rotary Club of Hong Kong North Point, and two new Rotarians joined the Rotary Club of Braemar Hill during the new member induction session. PDG CP Eric Chin was thrilled to welcome RTN Frank Wong, RTN Joanne She, and RTN Cassandra Lo, who briefly introduced themselves to the attendees. We also celebrated the birthdays of our members born in October and November, including our PDG CP Eric.
The meeting drew to a close around 10:00 pm, with many members and guests staying behind for further networking and fellowship. This joint club meeting not only met its objectives but also served as a dynamic platform for the exchange of insights, the celebration of significant milestones, and the strengthening of bonds within the Rotary community. This serves as a shining example of the camaraderie that defines our organization.
