We had our regular dinner meeting at Hotel Alexandra with members and guests on Thursday 16/3/2023!
First we kicked off the meeting with club’s recent activities and updates from our P Peter Pang. We then had a presentation from our CCC Kwei Wah Shan College Interact Club President Utsab and Director Nicole. We are very proud of them that they led their board of directors in initiating fund raising in school to donate to Rotary Foundation Turkey/Syria Disaster Response Fund which supports Shelter Box to help Victims of earthquake in Turkey and Syria. They have raised HK$ 10,500 within a week. The fundraising result is amazing and touching ! 👍🏼
In response to their urgent action, our 40 members, each member of Rotary Club of Hong Kong North Point matched donation and contributed a total of HK$31,200 .Fund was transferred to Rotary Foundation. Rotarians and Interactors in RCHKNP are People of Action ! Bravo!🎉
We’re also excited to welcome our new member Mr. Kenneth Cheng in joining RCHKNP big family! He’s a passionate educator and a special education school principal of Buddhist To Chi Fat She Yeung Yat Lam Memorial School. PDG CP Eric Chin, who’s also the District Member Committee Chair, pinned Kenneth on our behalf. Wishing Rtn. Kenneth a fruitful Rotary journey ahead! 🥂
The highlight of the night is undoubtedly the sharing from Ms. Juliana Lam – Founder & President of INNOTIER. A local business group that focuses on ESG x Fashion x Tech! Juliana shared with us her ups and downs in her entrepreneurial journey and most importantly, her passion and drive that keeps her going. She dedicates herself in providing innovative solutions in improving people’s lives and contributing to ESG! Her attitude and mindset is highly appreciated by all of us. 👏🏼
Every week, HK disposes 54 millions mask. Each mask needs 480 years to be decomposed completely. Aiming to reduce negative impact to the earth, Innotier has designed an innovative mask that is proven to be against the COVID-19 with 99% reduction, reusable and can be washed for 200 times! This is going to reduce 91.37% of the total carbon emission currently. 🌎
