This is another wonderful and enjoyable evening in the new year of the Rabbit for the club meeting being held at Hotel Alexandra on 16 February. PP Elsa Wong as the meeting chair firstly introduced and welcomed the guests and then briefly presented SAA/ District/ Club report and future events. In between, P Peter Pang particularly mentioned about the Fundraising action to provide urgent relief to Turkey and Syria Earthquakes through the donation to Shelter box, and we received good support from the participants.
A very special highlight in the meeting was PDG CP Eric acting as “God of Wealth” (財神到) to distribute Lai See to all participants who were all excited and surprised at this memorable moment. We then celebrated February Birthday stars, including IPP Carlos Tam and RTN Jason Yuen, in the meeting.
The club also celebrated the achievement of RTN Jennifer Tan who had been elected as ACCA Global Council Member for 2022-2025, as well as the Policy and Research Committee Member of Financial Service and Development Council. Jennifer was invited to give her experience sharing on how to achieve success on both her career and various professional service positions serving the institutions and the society. Every participant was highly inspired by her sharing and Jennifer is indeed another great role model for young generation to follow.
For the new member induction session, PP Elsa Wong delighted to announce both RTN Jason Yuen and RTN Euphoni Wong, who had briefly introduced by IPP Carlos Tam and RTN Jennifer Tan respectively.
Another highlight was our Honorary Member, Mr. Nick CHAN MH, JP as speaker to present a speech on the topic of ”青年興則國家興，青年強則國家強”. He gave in-depth insight to the younger generation on how to equip themselves to move forward their career development through better understanding of the country’s constitution and the related latest policies, including the central government initiative for the realization of high-level scientific and technological self-reliance and self-improvement. It therefore provides good opportunity for our younger generation to contribute to the country’s technological development. Apart from it, all members and guests had also been benefited from his talk as many practical take aways can be adopted for training and developing the future generations. RTN Euphoni Wong delivered the vote of thanks to Nick for his informative and inspiring sharings.
PP Elsa Wong then further promoted the coming meetings in March, including the Fellowship Dinner Talk by RTN Rose Spencer, RTN Royce Chow and Cynthia Chung, as well as the Speaker Talk for March Club meeting by Ms. Julianna LAM.
The meeting was adjourned at about 9:45pm after toasting. Many of our members and guests still stayed behind for fellowship networking. On the other hand, special thanks were given to RAC Athena Ho, IAC Tharsilla Lam and IAC W.K. Chu for their kind support as helper for the club meeting.
