Temporary Accommodation for Homeless

Inspired & led by the passion of DG Dr. Eric CHAK to help suffering caused by COVID-19, Rotary Clubs in Hong Kong responded. On 2nd Sept, “Temporary Accommodation for Homeless” started to help 100 people. RC Ratingen (Germany), RC HK North Point, RC Braemar Hill, RC Kwun Tong, RC Peninsula Sunrise, RC Tsim Sha Tsui & RC Innovation HK commenced cooperation with Society for Community Organization (SoCO). In addition to temporary shelter, beneficiaries will be helped to attain social securities for self-sustainability again.Due to COVID-19, street sleepers increase to 2,000+ and the number is increasing each day. For supporting homeless, SoCO’s annual budget exhausted within the 1st few months and then the emergency funding provided by Keswick Foundation lasted until early July 2020. We believe it is meaningful deed to support people in difficulties time and to help them stand up again. Rotarians are PEOPLE IN ACTION!We are seeking more funding to help beyond 100 people; we would be grateful if more clubs could join us in: TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATION FOR HOMELESS
