The Rotary Club of Hong Kong North Point and Island Toastmasters Club have teamed up to present an 8-week Youth Leadership Program (YLP), aiming to boost public speaking and leadership skills among secondary students.
Hosted at CCC Kwei Wah Shan College from February to April, the program welcomes nearly 30 students from Form 1 to Form 5, with sessions conducted entirely in English.
Program Highlights:
🗣️ Each meeting features workshops where students learn public speaking and leadership skills. Activities include impromptu speaking, prepared speeches, evaluations, and more.
🗳️ Participants lead their meetings and have elected their own club officers, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility.
🌟 Students demonstrate enthusiasm and dedication, embracing the training process wholeheartedly.
Special thanks to Rtn. John Poon, President of Island Toastmasters Club, for leading the sessions, with invaluable support from the YLP Coordiantors and helpers including PDG CP Eric Chin, Island Toastmasters Club member Darcy Zeng, and Rtn. Cassandra Lo.
By the end of the program, participants are expected to exhibit increased self-confidence and improved communication and leadership skills, preparing them to take on future challenges effectively.
