Disease Prevention For Junioract

In the evening of 22nd April 2022 (Friday), the school to Junioract Club of CCC Kei Faat Primary School informed Rotary Club of Hong Kong North Point on difficulties with school opening on 3rd May 2022 due to limited COVID-19’s Rapid Test Kit(s). Per Principal Cheng Ka Po, HKSAR government’s scheme(s) only supports family on social welfare; considering majority of their pupils live in subdivided flats and their parents were asked to take no-pay-leave from work, they don’t qualify to receive government support for free test kit(s). Many schools, who serve low-income families, anticipate another shutdown towards end of May due to students can’t afford testing themselves.

In learning the difficulties of beneficiaries to access COVID-19’s Rapid Test Kit(s) from HKSAR’s government, Rotary Club of Hong Kong North Point quickly took action in delivering 404 test kits to CCC Kei Faat Primary School to provide temporary relief on 25th April 2022 (Monday).  Thank you to the donations from IPP Colin CHAU (donated in the name of his late father, Leo CHAU), Rtn. Kelven LIT (donated in the name of his company, Bulbul Logistics Intelligence) & Rtn. Rex CHU of quantities 284 kits, 70 kits & 50 kits, respectively.

In hearing many parents had been on no-pay-leave in past months, our club inquired on difficulties with daily meals.  We found comfort that these family are already been supported by NGO with weekly food packages.  We understand it may take time before HKSAR government could refine their action, but for now, it is critical for Rotary Club of Hong Kong North Point in being “People of Action” until help could reach them.
